Death Dance
The dirt under my nails
is the same colour as death,
and my fingers move
with the the elegant arrogance of dancers,
who believe life is light footed,
but I have tripped enough to know
grace the same way
a lover that has never been kissed,
the same way one looks at the stars,
only to wonder which ones are dead.
